AMSA Commercial Surveys — Marine Surveying in Cairns, QLD

As an AMSA accredited marine surveyor, Queensland Ship Surveyors can assist you with survey compliance for your domestic commercial vessel (DCV).

Usually for the purpose of insurance or finance to determine fair market value, these surveys are carried out either when the vessel is afloat or dry docked for maintenance or due to accidental damage. The requirements of the insurer or finance company will dictate the conditions for the survey.

Cargo Lashing — Marine Surveying in Cairns, QLD

Securing the freight you are transporting is known as cargo lashing. It’s critically important to minimise the possibility of cargo moving around or becoming loose while on board. Loose cargo is a danger to the crew and also poses the risk of you losing your load, especially when you hit rough seas. QSS can inspect and assess the safety of the cargo to make sure it’s safe and compliant with recognised marine standards.

Damage Survey Ship — Marine Surveying in Cairns, QLD

If your boat has been damaged, either at sea or while dry docked, you will need a marine insurance claim survey. This survey is to ascertain the cause, nature and extent of the damage suffered. Queensland Ship Surveyors will carry out an inspection and assessment specifically for damage to the hull, machinery, cargo loading equipment, cargo and vessel itself.

On-Hire Bunker Survey — Marine Surveying in Cairns, QLD

On hire or off hire surveys are an independent snap shot of the condition of a vessel at a particular time and place of the commercial operation. The condition of the vessel is assessed once the vessel comes off hire and is compared to the condition when it was off hire, to determine if any damage has been done while being chartered.
